Consumer Catalogue Pictured Above

General Information

The 1939 consumer catalogue contained 52 pages -- equaling the largest printed catalogues during the 1930's with the 1931, 1932, 1933 and 1938 catalogues.

The cover has a large blue builders plate, similar in design to ones seen on real-life steam locomotives. Below the builders plate was Lionel's premier steam locomotive -- the 700E.

An interest note regarding the consumer catalogue is an error on page 49. The captions below lamp posts # 56 and # 57 are reversed. Lionel reportedly corrected this error in subsequent publications.
