General Information
Lionel's 671-135 was one of the first all-new
instruction sheets created and printed in
the postwar era. It highlighted Lionel's new
locomotive -- the turbine -- as well as their
brand new and innovative feature -- a
smoking steam locomotive.
Lionel printed three unique 671 instruction
sheets. Each of these instructions are generic
and intended to be used with several locomotives.
The two hardest instructions to locate are the
671-135 from January 1946 and the 671-210 dated
1/48 with the '2026' stamped on the instruction
page after it was printed.

Instruction Sheet Details & Variations
There are three distinctly different 671 instruction
sheets. They are:
- 671-135: All 671-135 instruction sheets
are for 1946 version of the 671 Turbine or 726
Berkshire. Each of these steam locomotives used
an illuminated light bulb as the smoking unit element.
- 671-210 (dated 1947 and 1948): When Lionel
created the all-new element-type smoke unit, an
updated instruction sheet was warranted for their
fleet of steamers. Hence,
this new instruction sheet was printed reflecting
the change of smoking elements. Lionel included the 671-210
instruction sheet with all 671, 675, 726, 2020 and
2025 steamers of the late 1940's.
- 671-210 (dated 1952): The instruction sheet
was dated February 1952. This sheet provided
instructions for steam locomotives having smoke but
no magne-traction -- due to the Korean War material
shortage. In reality, this instruction sheet was
included with either the 671RR or 726RR.
